This is me from this past weekend. We packed the dogs into the car along with snacks and took a leisurely drive up to Kent Falls, one of my favorite places in Connecticut. If you look closely at my mid-section, you might notice a little extra…how do you say this politely? Roundness. We are expecting. I am pregnant.

I’ve wanted to come back here and start telling you all about the room makeover I have planned for the little person’s arrival, but I’ve waited until we had a large handful of good appointments/ultrasounds under our belt. Since this next week marks the halfway point of our current adventure, I’m back, baby!

It is an incredibly exciting time made even more so because I get carte blanche to go nuts on one of the rooms in our house. New furniture, paint, trim, decorations, the w.o.r.k.S!

So far, I’ve tried to find colors that I really like and pinning room ideas like crazy.

We aren’t finding out the sex of the baby. How often as an adult do you get a fun surprise? Certainly not enough. We’ve painted the ceiling (with non-voc Olympic paint) in the guest room and agreed that crown molding would look very nice.

The big debate now, do we keep the room the pale blue color it is or go for something gray (gray is still sooooo in)? Thoughts? I’m also leaning towards doing sea glass colors.

Any tips for me? Or for Justin, who has had to wrestle the paint brush from me because I’m the painter in this house goshdarnit! (with a safety protective mask on, of course)?
